  1. This is what Jessica has also. They must all have copied the same thing from the board...

  2. Drew could not tell me exactly what it meant by use large construction paper. He did have a note that said be creative. Which when I asked he told me maybe that was a suggestion was to simply use the construction paper.

  3. Sorry about the "test" - I couldn't get my real comment to post. I am assuming that they are supposed to be using the age when the presidents went into office. Kaley's note suggests they are suppose to include the birthday of each president, though this could have referred to how to determine their age upon entering office.

  4. Jessica's notes say the age is at the time of inauguration. We too don't know what the construction paper is for. Also - do you put all 44 presidents on the bar graph (i.e. 44 bars??)

  5. HELP!
Aidan had no mention of triboard, construction paper etc.
    Is this 1 graph, 2, 3??
Pres ages on vertical and # pres on horiz? Or each pres name??
UGH I am being consumed by the "vague assignment tsunami"!

  6. The only thing that makes sense to me for the graph is if the questions about the youngest, oldest, average, etc. are to be answered on the graph... Otherwise they have to draw 44 graphs which I can't see having them do. Any thoughts?

  7. We did the research portion and have decided to put off "graphing" until tomorrow. We spoke with the May family who were under the impression that it was supposed to be a "chart" (rows & columns) and not a "graph" (vert/horis axis). :O
That's when we threw in the towel.

  8. Megan said the same. She said they need to graph all 44 presidents with their age on inaugeration day (bar graph), answer the 4 questions and be creative (??). It's taking forever. Not my favorite assignment.

  9. Ok I actually love the assignment but wow is it a doozy. That it is a math project Abby did all of the math problems to get to their age - which was tricky of course if their birthday fell before or after inauguration. We'll answer the other questions from that information.

We'll do the bar graph tonight and be creative Tuesday night. Abby said they would be given extra points for drawing and writing the graph themselves vs. creating one on the computer (boo!).

I think the only thing the graph needs to show is the age, the other questions can be answered somewhere else on the tri/poster board. There was not one single tri board left at Michael's yesterday so we got a white 20X30 foam board.
